BUZZ OF BAMBOOZLE
Jenn’s got a thing for bass players. She can spot one that’s her type from a mile away, and that’s all it took for us to head over to Break Stage to watch I Am Fighting. It was an old school buzz. We went to Bamboozle without knowing many of the bands on Sunday’s line up, and we purposely didn’t look any of them up ahead of time. We wanted to organically find new music based on the pull of the audience and the stage show itself. WIth so much information via Twitter, YouTube, etc., we realized it’s been a long time since we had to find new music in person. It really was like being a kid again. Jenn glued her eyes to that bass player and I got fixated on a roadie stage right. We knew before we knew that we were going to like these guys. The energy was right. Thankfully, the music followed through. It says a lot when a song can pull you in live when you’ve never heard it before, don’t know any of the lyrics, and have nothing emotionally invested. We were given a free sampler of their sounds, and it’s spinning in my cd player as I write. It’s good. It’s really good. And it makes me remember what this whole damn thing is about.
